Positions: Full Time & Part Time

Salary: Depending on Qualifications & Experience – Starts at $50 per service hour

Life Transitions Mission:  Provide high quality mental and behavioral health care to diverse communities and vulnerable populations.

Job Summary:  Provide assessment and educational service delivery for parents. The
educator will provide services in a community setting (in-home, except at request for
alternate location). At times, services may be delivered in an office setting. Teach
parenting skills for those in the foster care system.

Minimum Qualifications: Spanish speaking is desired but not required.
Possess a Bachelor’s s Degree in social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology,
counseling, or closely allied field; and three years of experience in foster care or a closely
related field.

Possess a Master’s Degree in social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology,
counseling, or closely allied field; AND have one of the following credentials:
■  Licensed as a Marriage and Family Counselor, Mental Health Counselor, or
Social Worker. (WAC 246-809)

■  Licensed Associate credential in marriage & family therapy, mental health, or
social work. (RCW 18-225-145)

Associate and Certified Counselors must have a written supervisory agreement on file.

In addition: Triple P certification in: Standard level 4, Teen, & Pathways (or a willingness to pay out of pocket for the Triple P training prior to providing service).

Pass a DSHS background check.

Key Components of Work Responsibilities and Service Requirements:

Teach Parenting Skills to Parents

1. Teach Triple P parenting skills to families in the foster care system. Deliver Triple P services in accordance to the standard and model.

2. Provide Intervention plans, weekly case updates, monthly reports, and end of
intervention reports. Produce professional quality work and uphold ethical
standards.

3. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with contractual agreements.
Physical demands: A minimal amount of light work may be required at times such as
adjusting office furniture or lifting of ten pounds or less
Work Hours:

■ Full Time – A commitment to providing 25 hours of service per week. Deliver
one hour of clinical service per week per client family. A case load of 8 – 12
families is the maximum limit. Compensation is based on hours of service
provided.

■ Part Time – A commitment to have a case load of at least 2 active client
families is required. Hours are flexible. Provide at least one hour of clinical
service to each family per week. Compensation is based on hours of service
provided.
