More About me
I am a Washington State Approved Clinical Supervisor. I am a Nationally Certified Addictions Counselor (NCAC) level 1.
I grew up in Los Angeles, CA. I experienced the war on drugs, school to prison pipeline and systemic institutionalization. I have watched the fabric of our society erode and believe by assisting people in changing how they see things will help them overcome their struggles. We must do this together. The passion and desire I have stems from growing up in a city of decay and finding my way out of the mental doom and gloom of various obstacles. They say, “the best counselors are the ones who’ve done the work themselves”!
I have worked in the mental health field since 2011. I have developed youth and adult organizations in hopes of assisting our community grow and provide the help we all need.
I enjoy working with people struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma. I have extensive training with co-occurring disorders, inner city gangs and system/institutional trauma.
I have worked with individuals experiencing mild anxiety to schizophrenia and the likes of other organic disorders. I have experience in raising children with special needs.
My clinical experience is leading teams in the realm of co-occurring disorders, crisis (Co-first responders) substance use (methadone & MAT), serious mental illness, inpatient and outpatient facilities.
My father and grandfather served in the military in active war. I understand PTSD inside and outside of close family relations.
I have been a state designated Mental Health Professional (MHP) in Washington since 4/1/2019.
