More About me
I grew up in Baltimore County, Maryland, and relocated to Riverside, California in 2017 to complete my master’s program in Counseling Psychology. I recently relocated to Washington and I am a dual-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselor.
I have worked in the mental health field since 2013, working with both adults and children. The bulk of my experience has been focused on supporting clients with mood disorders, anxiety, addiction, trauma, and relationship and/or family conflict. I also have experience with clients with serious mental illness and crisis interventions. I’ve worked in residential and hospital settings, in substance use centers, schools, shelters, and in a county jail.
I have a desire to support people as they navigate life, stressors, and various emotional or traumatic experiences. I believe in providing a safe, non-judgmental, authentic, and empathetic environment to allow clients the freedom to express themselves. My hope is to utilize validation and collaboration to help the client find their strengths and support growth and healing.
My therapeutic approach tends to lean more person-centered and CBT. However, I utilize a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities to meet client needs including DBT skills, strategic family therapy, and narrative. I may use motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, assigning homework, mindfulness, and other treatment interventions depending on goals and needs.
